Basically every category of car is in Gran Turismo Sport. They have regular cars, race cars, electric cars, trucks, and more. Now, GT Sport creator, Kazunori Yamauchi, says he is bringing Formula E cars as well.
For those of you who don’t know, Formula E is essentially electric F1 cars. Whether you like it or not, electric cars are the future. Regular race cars and racing series help fuel innovation and that technology drips down to production cars. That is basically the same idea with Formula E cars. They should push the industry to new levels to bring us much cooler cars in the future.
This news was announced at a Porsche Japan event where Porsche said they are coming to Formula E. Even bigger news is that they will be using Gran Turismo Sport as their main racing simulator for their new “Porsche E-Racing Japan series”. This is strictly a one manufacture official eSports series in Japan.
Yamauchi was asked if he would be bringing Formula E to GT Sport to which he responded “no doubt”. He also confirmed that he has already had talks with Formula E and about adding it to the game.
Formula E is still very new, but I am excited for any new cars or series to be added to GT Sport. However, what do you think? Are you excited, are you upset, or do you wish they would add something else? Let us know in the comments below.
