I have been thinking about this a lot recently. We waited about five years to see Gran Turismo 5 finally get released which is a crazy long time when you think about it. When it was released everyone loved it, but it still had some major problems, primarily standard cars. Gran Turismo 6 came out much sooner, but felt like a GT5.5 rather then a whole new game. This brings us to the question, how long would you wait for the perfect Gran Turismo?
So far Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of the Gran Turismo series has been saying end of 2015 to sometime in 2016 at the latest. He recently confirmed this again to games webstie SpazioGames as well. However he is also saying there definitely will be standard cars again. Standard cars have been improved a lot in GT6 just from GT5 and I would assume the trend would continue in GT7. However would you wait longer for the GT7 release to fix all the current problems?
In my Top 5 Gran Turismo 7 wants I basically listed all the main problems with the current game and general things I would like to see in GT7. Most of the list will be improved upon, but many for sure will not be in the game. Some things that are said to be fixed are many more premium cars that are even more detailed and much improved crash damage. Both are very welcome improvements.
I miss the old games like GT2 that were best in the world with no one questioning it. It’s very possible for them to do it again, but it will take time. The more time they take the more outdated it also becomes as new cars constantly have to be added etc. It’s a very delicate situation trying to stay current while also bringing the best possible racing experience.
I personally would wait another year or two to make sure all the finishing touches are added. What do you think? Would you prefer a decent game sooner or a great game later?
