Who is faster, the Tesla Model S P85 or the Fisker Karma? I had the idea of an all electric car battle based on these two cars because they are both 4 door, both rear wheeled drive, and have similar stats. The Tesla technically has more hp and weighs less, but has half the torque compared to the Fisker. As you can see from the video, the Tesla P85 is just a touch faster compared to the Fisker Karma around a track.
Both cars are tuned by me and I found the extra torque of the Fisker to not help as much as I’d thought it might. It became difficult to slam on the gas at times because the tires would spin up and cause it to almost drift. The Model S on the other hand had no problem pushing the power smoothly around the corners or on the straights. The smoothness of its power delivery is the reason why it won, but it was pretty close. Also, the spoiler on the Tesla is just for looks, but the downforce was all the way up, not helping at all.
